Darolyn Davis, the Founder and President of Davis & Associates Communications, is an award-winning media and public relations professional with a lifetime of experience and more than 25 years of communications excellence to her credit.

As the daughter of a news cameraman and a journalist, communications has been a part of Darolyn¹s life from her earliest days. At a very young age, Darolyn recognized and appreciated the impact of the visuals of television and the passion of the written word.

The founding of Davis & Associates in 1996 was the culmination of genetic influence, hard work, motivation and an abiding passion for the power and influence of the message. It was an opportunity for Darolyn to truly apply her lifetime of exposure to the world of media and communications to the world around her.

Darolyn currently serves as the lead strategist on Davis & Associates top accounts, working with government agencies, businesses, community leaders and the media to build public support and to shift perceptions about important policies, programs and issues. Darolyn also has an impeccable track record of building strategic partnerships with businesses in order to implement long-term public relations strategies and short-term media campaigns.

Prior to founding Davis & Associates, Darolyn spent a number of years in politics at the state and local levels. Darolyn served as press secretary to then California State Assembly Speaker Willie L. Brown, Jr., developing communications strategies for complex issues, crafting targeted messages and coordinating countless media and public relations events for the Speaker. When Mr. Brown was elected Mayor of San Francisco, Darolyn oversaw all media activities for his widely covered inauguration.

Prior to her legislative work, Darolyn was associate producer for nationally syndicated television programs and worked as an assistant associate producer on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

Darolyn is a recognized leader in the public relations industry as well as an active advocate for community and philanthropic organizations including Public Relations Society of America, Public Affairs Roundtable and the National Women's Political Caucus. She serves as a frequent guest speaker at professional conferences and sits on the boards of several organizations including The Black Coalition on Aids, Mary Elizabeth Inn for women and the United Negro College Fund.
