Davis & Associates welcomes new staff members

Davis & Associates is excited to announce the addition of six new staff members to our team! These talented associates have already shown their commitment to offering top- notch service to our clients.

Tina Garcia joined our staff last fall as a Senior Communications Specialist. Tina comes to Davis & Associates with an extensive background in communications project management, public outreach and graphic design. Raised in Southern California, Tina graduated from UC Berkeley with degrees in Communications and Sociology and is a LEED Accredited professional.

Lesger Talavera comes to Davis & Associates as a Communications Specialist and Lead Graphic Designer. Lesger is a Bay Area native and received a degree in Journalism from San José State University. Lesger has 10 years of experience with health and education nonprofit organizations in communications, Web and graphic design, and public affairs.

Andrew Kornblatt also joins our team as a Communications Specialist. His background is steeped in legislation, political campaigning, and environmental advocacy throughout the state of California. A Bay Area native, Andrew returned after receiving a bachelor’s degree from Boston University in Political Science.

Brittany Chord comes to Davis & Associates from the post of deputy press secretary for the Office of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Since earning her bachelor’s degree in Government-Journalism from California State University, Sacramento, Brittany has gathered four years of experience in state politics, community engagement, and media outreach.

Jumoke Hinton Hodge is a community and youth development consultant who has worked in the Bay Area for the last two decades. Jumoke is the founder of the Parent Leadership and Engagement Academy Initiative (PLEA), West Oakland Education Task Force and the West Oakland Education Brain Trust. Jumoke holds a bachelor’s degree in Black Studies and English from Oberlin College, and is a wife and mother to four children.

Bryce Ballinger Sarabia has joined our staff as an executive and project support assistant. Originally from Los Angeles, Bryce attended the San Francisco Art Institute, where she studied New Genres. Bryce has been active in community outreach programs throughout San Francisco and Oakland including the Youth Public Media program at California College of the Arts.

Davis & Associates awarded contract with Zone 7 Water Agency

Davis & Associates was recently awarded a contract with Zone 7 Water Agency to begin July 1, 2009. Zone 7 Water Agency, based out of Livermore, CA, works to provide high quality drinking water and an effective flood control system to the Livermore-Amador Valley. Zone 7, which recently celebrated its 50th year of agency success, hired Davis & Associates to provide external communications support through both print and online materials.

Throughout the contract, Davis & Associates will partner with staff at Zone 7 to develop timely and consumer-conscious newsletters, fact sheets and audio/visual presentations, as well as both an annual report and a consumer-confidence report. Davis & Associates will also provide Web site support including automated sign-up for newsletter, interactive graphics and multimedia. Our staff will coordinate with Zone 7 to create a streamlined and user-friendly site through content management and updated multimedia.

Davis & Associates appreciates the opportunity to provide communications assistance to the Zone 7 Water Agency and is excited to begin collaboration with the Zone 7 staff in this exciting region.

Davis & Associates welcomes summer intern to team

Davis & Associates is excited to welcome Emma Leyton to our team as a summer intern! Emma will work with project staff at Davis & Associates to learn the many facets of public relations and communications, while contributing on various project tasks.

Emma, a rising senior at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, is on her way to receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing. Emma has excelled in marketing, public relations, finance, economics and hospitality and tourism coursework, as well Spanish.

Emma works in the College of Charleston Admissions Office as an administrative assistant, where she manages e-mail correspondence with parents of potential students at C of C. Emma has also given her time to her local Boys & Girls Club as a tutor for the past two years.

In addition to her school and work schedules, Emma is a member of the College of Charleston tennis team, which competes throughout the Southeast. Other past jobs she has held include that of tennis instructor, restaurant hostess and summer camp counselor. In her free time, Emma enjoys cooking with friends, playing soccer and fitness training.
